Which Finishes Ship the Quickest?
Order swatches first — they are free and they arrive in three to five days. Every wood on this site is a real finish on real timber, which means it will look different in your room than it does on your screen. Beyond taste, the finish you pick can also change how quickly your order ships.

Options vary by product — a barbell rack may offer three woods where a dumbbell set offers six — so the product page is always the authority for a specific piece.
Choosing against the room, not the catalog
The equipment will sit in a finished space with flooring, millwork and daylight already in it. Three things decide whether a finish works:
- Undertone. Warm woods sit badly beside cool grey flooring, and the mismatch is more obvious in person than online. A swatch held against the actual floor settles it in seconds.
- Contrast. Matching your millwork exactly is harder than contrasting with it deliberately. If the room is oak, a dark walnut piece often reads better than an oak piece that is nearly but not quite right.
- Light. North-facing rooms cool everything down. Look at swatches at the time of day you will actually use the room.

Matching across brands
Within a brand, order the same wood and it will match. Across brands, plan on complementary rather than identical — these are separate makers with separate finishing processes, so PENT's Natural Walnut and NOHrD's walnut will not be the same colour. A common approach among our clients is one brand for the anchor pieces and another for what fills in around them, chosen to sit together rather than to match. Finish can change your delivery date
We stock by finish, so the wood you choose can determine whether a piece ships now or is built to order. The NOHrD Citius treadmill is the clearest example: oak and walnut are in stock, while the other finishes run 12 to 16 weeks. How many wood finishes are available?
Six for NOHrD and WaterRower, up to six for PENT Fitness plus five leathers and two metal finishes, and four for Fysik.
Will finishes match between brands?
Not exactly. Different makers finish differently, so aim for complementary rather than identical and compare swatches side by side before ordering.
Does the finish affect the price?
It can. Most products show a price range across their finish options, and the product page will show the price for the finish you select.
